Let’s Go to the Mountains – Throwback Thursday 2023

“Living in dreams of yesterday, we find ourselves still dreaming of impossible future conquests.” – Charles Lindbergh

I am a big fan of the mountains. It’s one of my favorite places to visit. I try to visit them at least once a year. We live about two hours away from some pretty good spots in the mountains, and we usually take a day trip there. We try to visit different sports every year, but there are some places I like to check out every year, from the Blue Ridge Parkway to an apple orchard, there is plenty to see in the North Carolina Mountains.

One of my favorite spots to visit is Curtis Creek near Old Fort, North Carolina. The views of the creek are incredible, and you can see most of them right from your car. To get there, just search for Curtis Creek Campground on Google Maps, and when you arrive just stay on the gravel road until you reach the Blue Ridge Parkway. Then you can choose between visiting Marion, North Carolina by taking a right or taking a left and heading to Asheville, North Carolina.

The last time I visited, it was raining that day, but that didn’t stop me from taking some incredible photos. I was able to get some amazing long-exposure shots on my last visit.

Check out this video of Curtis Creek.
