Negative Photos, Positive News

“A promise must never be broken.” – Alexander Hamilton

It’s been a month since Hurricane Helene terrorized the southeast United States. Many communities are still recovering from the devastation of the storm. Many are still without running water, and roads are still being rebuilt. However, there is some good news in all of this. Many people have been volunteering time, donating goods and giving money to support those impacted by the storm. On Saturday night, there was a concert in Charlotte that raised over 20 million dollars for those impacted in Western North Carolina. Sometimes when things are bad, we have a chance to see some good in others.

I took these photos a few weeks ago when the family and I went down to help my mom in Augusta, GA. She had been without power for over a week. We set her up with a generator, and cleaned up debris around her yard. She has power, but is still waiting on her internet to come back on. The area is doing better now that power has been restored, but many places shown in the photos have only just begun to recover.

Check out this video I took during the storm.
