Photographers, how often is it that you take photos and someone asks you to share it with them right away? I can’t count the number of times I’ve taken pictures at family event, and someone asks me to borrow my memory card so they can have the photos to post online. There is little respect for the process that happens behind the scenes. We live in a culture that wants everything now. We a news event happens, we want to understand everything that happened with it immediately, even though most of the time the first reactions are wrong. When we go out to eat, we don’t want to wait for our food, we want it now, and it has to be perfect. We want the job promotion without the work or grind to earn it. We live in a society that has no patience or appreciation for the process. The process is where the most growth occurs, and where we become the best versions of ourselves.
I took these photos last August while I was riding my bike in Uptown Charlotte. One of my favorite places to stop at is Marshall Park. Marshall Park has a great view of Uptown Charlotte, and on a clear and calm day you can see the reflection of the city in the pond.

A very well taken snapshot of our times. It’s like Freddy Mercury sings “I want it all, and I want now” but I rather go with Aerosmith “life’s a journey, not a destination”.
