“Happiness is found in doing, not merely possessing.” – Napoleon Hill

We get this idea that if we get that one thing we will be happy. It could be a new car, a bigger house, or even the best new phone on the market. We see an object as a way to obtain more happiness. The problem is, things can only deliver for so long. Eventually, they are not new anymore. In the beginning, it was the newest car, but as soon as it leaves the car lot, it loses value. Same with the bigger house. One day, it starts to get smaller, or it is missing something. This is why I love the quote above. We have to find our joy in our purpose. The best way to find happiness is to set goals and accomplish them. It can be professional or personal. I try to set goals for myself in different parts of my life. This allows me to be reflective of who I can be as a person.

I visit different places on my bike in Charlotte in order to have time to reflect. One of those places is Marshall Park in Uptown. It has a great view of the city. If the weather is clear and the winds are calm, the reflection of the city shows up in the water. I have several photos taken in this park, and it’s one place I love sharing.

Check out this video I took of Marshall Park.
