Favorite Fall Photo’s – Throwback 2021

“Order and simplification are the first steps toward the mastery of a subject.” – Thomas Mann

When I look back at some of my favorite photos that I have taken, more often than not they were not part of the original plan. Typically, I either find them while I am driving around or just get there by accident. Take these photos for instance. We went apple picking a few years ago up in the North Carolina Mountains, and I had a waterfall picked out to visit afterward. After we left the falls, we decided that we didn’t want to drive that far, so we just happened to see this location on Google, and it was a gem.

Our Google for waterfalls led us to this location. That led us to this lovely gem called McGalliard Falls. The falls are inside this lovely little park. The falls was only a short walk away from the parking lot. You have a pretty good view from the top, but if you walk down this steep hill you get the best view of them all. I love these photos here because you have this mill at the top of the hill. With the leaves changing in the background and the stream in the front make it look like something you would see in landscape painting.

Check out this video of another great fall spot in the mountains.
