Shots from My Hometown

“A people free to choose will always choose peace.” – Ronald Reagan

I got my first DSLR camera back in 2018. I bought the Nikon D3200 from a pawn shop. It was older and had already taken a lot of shots in its lifetime. I purchased it because we were taking our first cruise that year at Christmas. It was the first time I had ever left the country, and I wanted something to capture the memories. We had traveled a lot since then, and I am now on my 3rd camera since that first purchase. We had plans to travel in 2020, and all of those plans came to a halt because of the pandemic. That’s when I started taking photos around Charlotte. I missed traveling, so I decided to be a tourist at home. Before 2020, I didn’t realize there were so many great spots to take photos of in Charlotte. Now I capture photos when I can for the practice and the memories.

I was born in Charlotte, but I grew up in Augusta, Georgia. One thing I didn’t realize is that I hadn’t taken that many photos of where I grew up. Last Thanksgiving, we visited family for Thanksgiving, and I decided I wanted to go to downtown Augusta and take pictures. Here are a few of those shots.

Here are some other shots of Augusta.
