I remember when I was younger my dad would take me to the mountains. My dad loved photography back in those days. We would go on hikes to see what he would photograph. I remember we went hiking along this stream, and we stumbled upon this large group of monarch butterflies. There were so many of them just resting on the rocks of the stream and getting some water. In fact, I had never seen so many butterflies before in one place.

The only other time I had seen so many butterflies was during our visit to the butterfly sanctuary. We visited the sanctuary in the Dominican Republic last winter. As we toured the space, we learned information about butterflies, and their efforts to conserve them. This is just one example of the many photos I took while we were there.
