“The happiest people seem to be those who have no particular cause for being happy except that they are so.” – William Inge

I know a lot of people like to sleep in late while they are on vacation. I guess for me, sleeping in isn’t the same as it is for others. One a normal weekday, my alarm is going off at 5:30 in the morning. Say I sleep in two hours later than normal, I get up at around 7:30. Compared to other people, I don’t sleep that late. There are a few advantages to waking up early while on vacation. One, things are not as crowded. While on our last cruise, it was nice eating breakfast, and it was peaceful. Two, I get to ease into the day before things get busy. I don’t like waking up, and getting started with my day right away. I like to enjoy the morning with a cup of coffee and a moment to think on the day. Three, I love catching a good sunrise. You can’t beat a good sunrise while on vacation.

I went to Aruba for the first time last winter break. I woke up early enough that morning to catch the sunrise over the city. There was just one problem: there was a lot of overcast that morning. Even though it wasn’t the sunrise I expected, it was still a beautiful morning.

Here is a great sunrise I captured in Nassau.
