“It’s so fine and yet so terrible to stand in front of a blank canvas.” – Paul Cezanne

I love how many cities are adding murals to their buildings. Without them, these buildings and alley ways would look just like any other building, and in some cases worse. To me, it gives a city character and something to see while visiting. This also gives an opportunity for many artists to express themselves and to show off their craft to the world.

Last winter break, the family and I took a cruise around the Caribbean. One of the places we visited was Willemstad, Curaçao. Willemstad is a beautiful city with a rich history. We decided to take a tour of the city. We visited a set of caves outside of the city, and afterwards took a walking tour of it. We walked around different parts of the city observing many of its different murals.

Here is a set a murals local to me in Charlotte.
