“There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt.” – Erma Bombeck

I will walk a good distance to capture a good photo. I might also ride my bike to see something I haven’t seen before. To me the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination. Typically, while on the way somewhere I have an opportunity to think and reflect on life. I also have the opportunity to enjoy being outside.

There was one journey to see waterfalls that I will never forget. Back in 2021, my family and I went camping in Northeast Georgia near Helen. We visited there because my wife and I went to college together in the region. We had a lot of memories of the area. One place we visited was Tallulah Gorge. I wanted to see the falls at the bottom, but there was one catch. You had to walk down over 300 steps to see it. My daughter and wife decided to not go, but my son went with me. Going down wasn’t so bad, but going back up was insane. My legs were on fire for days, but the view was worth it.

Here is a video of a place I love to visit in North Carolina, Curtis Creek.
