“If you can’t describe what you are doing as a process, you don’t know what you’re doing.” – W. Edwards Deming

I have been teaching in elementary school for over ten years now. I have been successful over the last few years. However, I often hear similar concerns. These are about getting students back on track from what happened during Covid. When you talk to leaders inside education and people outside of education they want results quickly. For some students, it’s possible to get back on track. For others, it could take years before they reach that point. When you are looking at only test score data it’s easy to forget that it’s a process. For myself, I have understand there is a process, and several factors that go into a child’s learning. Understanding the process has allowed me to be successful in the classroom.

Another thing that has a process is photography. Many people think that you just walk up and snap a photo, and that’s it. However, there is more that goes into taking a great photo. You have to frame it right. Be up at the right time. Get the angles right while working with the light. That doesn’t include what happens behind the scenes. These photos I captured last year while on vacation in the Bahamas. I had to wake up early to catch the sunrise. My camera gear had to be ready to go. I positioned myself correctly to capture it.

Check out this video I captured of the sunrise.
You are so right! There’s a lot more to a great pic than just clicking and your photos are proof of that. 😊
