“The secret of happiness is something to do.” – John Burroughs

It’s easy to think that our goal in life is to set up ourselves to where we do less. My last job I had was at a bank. While there was always something to do on some days, it really wasn’t that busy. Most days would be spent just watching the time fly by. The boredom actually got to me, even though I didn’t realize it at the time. A co-worker told me one that I was too smart for the job, and I needed a challenge. She was right. I took her words to heart, and started to see what my next steps should be. I ended up in education. After a passing a test and a summer long training, I was in the classroom. I think we all want to be challenged.

One area I have challenged myself recently on is street photography. I’ve been focused on landscape for years, and I know it is time to do something new. The last few times I have been out and about in Charlotte, I have been taking photos of random people. I captured these photos on the Light Rail Trail in Charlotte.
