Trying Something New

“I have a tendency to lean towards a more retro look.” – Haley Bennett

Logos and things that were cool back in the 80’s and 90’s are making a comeback. If you haven’t noticed lately, this trend is gaining momentum. From classic rock bands to old animated shows, more people are into older content. Collecting vinyl records to playing older video games, the older things are making a comeback. I don’t know if we are wishing for better days or think older things are better. It’s always fun to see things that I was into and still into remain popular.

One thing I have noticed people getting into lately on Instagram is film photography. I see new accounts popping up all the time with people starting a film hobby. I like the look of film, but I am not a fan of the expense and messing with it. I have many childhood memories of doing film photography. I remember losing an entire roll of film because I accidentally exposed it. That’s why I enjoy digital photography so much because I don’t have to worry about losing a whole roll. I do like the look of a film camera. Those distortions have a way of showing a different perspective. Earlier this month on Instagram, I saw an ad for @retropiacam . They recycle old disposable camera lens and convert them into lenses for digital cameras. I just started playing with it last week, and I have been loving the results so far. Here are a few photos from when I was playing with the lens in my backyard.
