Silent Photos

“Silence is the mother of truth.” – Benjamin Disraeli

Here is a simple question. What is the difference between a photograph and a video? One is a still image and the other is not with sound added. I know videos are more popular on social media right now because that’s what most people are into. I enjoy fun video content as much as the next person, but I enjoy photography more. I enjoy looking at it and practicing it. To me, when looking at a photograph you have to do more than just look at it. To get the full feel of a photograph, you must imagine the sounds. You should also envision the movement happening when the photo was captured.

Lately, I have been practicing street photography. What’s fun about it is I have no idea what is happening with the people who I am capturing. I just walk up and snap their photo. When I look over them later, I try to give that person a story. I base it off their mannerisms and facial expressions. I captured these photos. I was riding my bike on the Light Rail Trail. This was in the Southend Neighborhood of Charlotte, N.C.

Check out this video I made while riding my bike in Uptown Charlotte.
