Big Bear Falls – Throwback 2022

“The only sure weapon against bad ideas is better ideas.” – Alfred Whitney Griswold

When I think of all the things I enjoy, one of them is hiking. I have always loved taking long hikes. My goal is to spend an extended amount of time outside. Typically, when I hike, I have a specific goal in mind. From seeing different waterfalls to seeing a landmark that I haven’t seen before. While I enjoy getting to the destination, the journey is what gives me the most benefits.

A couple of summers ago, my family and I camped near South Mountain State Park. This is a hidden gem only 50 miles east of Charlotte, North Carolina. From well-kept trails to beautiful views, it’s a must see for any looking for some time in nature. One of the highlights of the trip for me was when we hiked to Big Bear Falls. It’s not the biggest as the state park, but it is an incredible sight.

Check out this video I made of the falls.
