New Things

“Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.” – Oscar Wilde

If you haven’t noticed by now, I love photography. This year I decided I wanted to improve my photography by trying some different things this year. I have been doing landscape photography for years, but this year I have been doing some street photography. I get a little nervous taking photos of people I don’t know. You never know how some people will react to you taking their picture. I try to not be obvious when I am doing it. However, a friend told me years ago that I am no good at not being obvious. I try to be sneaky, and so far, no one has come after me yet. I have enjoyed doing different things.

Another thing I am doing differently this year is taking photos with a new lens a purchase from Retropia. They recycle old disposable camera lenses and convert them into digital camera lenses. I have been using mine for a few weeks now. It’s pretty cool how the photos have turned out with it. It gives the feel that the photos were taken with film. It brings out different colors and light perspectives. I took these photos last week. I was riding my bike along the Rail Trail in the Southend neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina.
