“All change is not growth, as all movement is not forward.” – Ellen Glasgow

We first moved back to Charlotte in 2012. We moved to be closer to family, and I was just starting my teaching career. I grew in Augusta, Georgia. Augusta is famous for one thing, The Masters. For those unfamiliar with golf, The Masters is a major tournament. It is one of the four major golf tournaments that happens each year. It is always held in Augusta, GA. To get tickets, you have to enter your name into a random draw. You then hope your name comes up. I had been trying to get tickets since we moved to Charlotte. Last year, I finally managed to buy tickets for Monday’s Practice Round. The Sunday before, we headed down to Augusta to watch the practice round.

There was one catch to the practice round this year, there was the threat of rain. When we arrived, it rained the entire time. We knew the course could close at any time, so we decided to go to the gift shop first. As soon as we finished there, we walked out, and the course was closing due to lightning. We went back to our car, checked the weather, and knew it wasn’t going to reopen. We headed back to Charlotte. There is some good news in all of this, The Masters emailed me. They said they were giving me my money back. I would be able to purchase tickets to next year’s practice round. At least I have an opportunity to go again next year.
