“Find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.” – Julia Child

As a teacher, I am on my feet all day. According to my watch, most days I go more than 10,000 steps a day. My watch says I go 5 miles a day when I am at work on average. I am used to walking a long distance in a day. So, when I see places to explore in the mountains, I keep that in mind. However, there is a difference between a mountain mile and a mile inside my classroom. I found this out when we went to Catawba Falls on the way to Asheville, North Carolina. When I looked it up online, I saw it was a mile and half hike to see the falls. On the way up the to see the falls, I realized this mile was longer than I thought it was. It felt longer because the walk up was straight uphill. Eventually I made it to the top, and here are the photos that I captured of it.

Here is a another great waterfall in North Carolina, Lineville Falls.
