“Everything popular is wrong.” – Oscar Wilde

I think most of us want to become better people. We either want to be better because we want more success, better relationships, and to be better at life. Too often the one thing lacking to make us better is who we surround ourselves with. Who we are with can make or break us. After a couple of years of teaching, I realized I needed to be around the right people to be successful. I started to seek out teachers who were making a visible difference in their classrooms. I looked at the success they achieved and how they felt about their work. This gave me insights into things I should be doing in my classroom. We do not teach at the same school anymore. We still keep up with each other to share ideas.

Last month, I was able to do something I have been waiting for years to do, go to the Masters. For those who are unfamiliar, the Masters is one of the four major golf tournaments. It happens every year. It is held in Augusta, Georgia every year. To buy tickets, I needed to enter a random drawing. For the first time in 12 years, I was able to buy tickets. Then it rained. We went anyways, but right as we finished up in the gift shop, they closed the course. I was able to take these photos before they closed it up.
