Sights from the Road

“Without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind.” – Johannes Brahms

Am I the only person who feels like they are missing opportunities to take photos while driving? When my family and I take trips, I am typically the one driving. So many times, while driving, I see a great view or something cool on the road. Since I am driving, there is no way for me to grab my camera and take a photo. If I tried to do so, I would either get us into an accident. Alternatively, our trip would take longer because I am pulling over. So usually, I get a good look, capture the image in my mind, and keep going.

Last winter, the family and I stopped at the Dominican Republic while we were taking a cruise. We took a tour around the island on a open air bus. Since I wasn’t driving, I was able to capture some great photos while we were on the road. We stopped at a butterfly sanctuary, a wood carving place, and a plantation for lunch.

I made this video while on the tour.
