“Appearances are a glimpse of the unseen.” – Anaxagoras

What do you love about photography? For me, it’s all about capturing the moment. It might be the first time I have visited somewhere. I want to be able to look back on that moment forever. It could be a photo of something familiar to me. A location that I have visited several times, but I have found a new way to capture it. Whatever that moment might be, my goal with my photography is to capture an image to save forever.

I practice photography as often as I can, even when I am not traveling. I typically practice by riding my bike around where I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. Recently, I visited Freedom Park. It’s one of the largest parks in Charlotte. It features a lake, several ball fields, playgrounds, and walking trails. My grandparents used to live in walking distance from this park. When I visited them, they would bring me here. I visited the park because they recently opened up part of the trail that leads towards Uptown Charlotte. Before I took my bike over to that trail, I went to the lake and took some photos. I did some street photography at this spot capturing some of the people there. I then took out my lens that I had purchased from Retropia. It’s made from a recycled disposable camera lens. It gives the effects of film photography with the film. It works best in bright light conditions. These are the photos I captured with this lens while I was out there.
