“The greater our knowledge increases the more our ignorance unfolds.” – John F. Kennedy

I enjoy spending time outdoors. I’m the type of teacher who when recess comes around is heading outside. It was drizzling a little bit after testing last week, and I still took my class outside. They needed to get outside, and I needed to get outside. We all needed time outside. We didn’t stay outside for long because the rain started to pick up. I also have started taking walks on my lunch break and in the evening to spend more time outside. I am always looking for ways to spend time outside.

One of the ways I like to spend time outside is riding my bike through town. When I ride my bike, I usually bring my camera with me. Lately I have been practicing street photography. I started doing street photography after a day of bike riding. I realized I didn’t see anything worth capturing with my camera. I just started to take photos of the people I see. It’s weird sometimes because I’m sure people don’t like me taking their picture. I try to be discrete about it. Seeing some guy with a giant lens on their camera isn’t that discrete. I use my 50-300mm lens because I can get better close ups without getting in people faces.

I took these shots at one of my favorite parks in Charlotte, North Carolina, Freedom Park. Freedom Park is the largest park in Charlotte. It features several walking trails, a lake, ball fields and several playgrounds. It’s a great place to spend the day outdoors.
