I’m always down for an adventure. I love to hike, explore, and check out new places. All of our big vacations in the last 5 years have involved going to places we had never visited before. When I was 16, I had never left the country at that point. My oldest, who is 16, has already been to more than a dozen countries. We took our first cruise as a family in 2017. After that, we decided that we wanted travel to be a part of our lives. We take any opportunity we can to travel to somewhere new.

Last winter break, the family and I took a cruise through the Caribbean. We visited several places that I had never been to before. One of those places was the British Virgin Islands. We visited an island called the Virgin Gorda. We hiked through the caves and did some snorkeling. The hiking through the caves was not what I expected it to be. We walked through this crazy terrain without shoes. I was carrying my snorkel gear. It was difficult to get through. Did I enjoy it in the end, yes. Would I do it again, maybe. I would want to be better prepared with some kind of footwear. These are some of the photos I took afterwards with my GoPro. I prefer to use my GoPro for trips like this. I do this because I don’t want to risk my phone getting busted. I also want to avoid ruining my camera. A GoPro is way cheaper to replace than a camera or a smart phone, and it’s pretty good at photography. The photos that are not underwater were taken in the water at this section my son and I swam to.
