Enjoying the Park

“Many a trip continues long after movement in time and space have ceased.” – John Steinbeck

What do you like to do when you visit the park? Some people go for exercise like walking or running. Some go just to be outside with nature. Others go to spend time with friends and family. Many go to the park to take photos, either of the park or to have photos of themselves taken. Many times, families just give their kids some time outside. I know my main reasons for going to the park are to ride my bike and take photos. I am fortunate that in Charlotte, North Carolina there are several nice parks throughout the city.

One thing I enjoy doing at the park is people watching. On a nice day, you never know who you will see at the park. Lately, I have been practicing street photography because you never know how the photos will turn out. I try to be as discreet as possible. I am sure I stick out. I have a camera in my face with a giant lens attached to it. Maybe I am not as obvious as I think I am. These photos I took while visiting two different parks in Charlotte the other day, Marshall Park and The Green. Both are small urban parks in Uptown Charlotte. Marshall Park features a few water features with a great view of the city. The Green is a literacy themed park designed to promote reading in Charlotte by featuring quotes from several different authors. Both parks are great places to spend the day outside.
