“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

One of my goals this summer is to take time away from technology. It’s tempting and easy to just sit and scroll on my phone all day. While it is easy to and feels good in the moment; long term it’s not good. I know it is ironic writing about this on my laptop. I have times during the day where I plan activities for myself during the day that doesn’t involve my phone. From working in the yard to reading, I find ways to be discounted from the world.

Last April, I was able to do something I have been waiting for years to do, go to the Masters. For those who are unfamiliar, the Masters is one of the four major golf tournaments. It happens every year. It is held in Augusta, Georgia every year. One thing that is different about the Masters is they don’t allow cell phones inside. During the practice rounds you can bring in a camera. When we visited, I took advantage and brought my camera to capture the beauty of the gold course. To buy tickets, I needed to enter a random drawing. For the first time in 12 years, I was able to buy tickets. Then it rained. We went anyways, but right as we finished up in the gift shop, they closed the course. I was able to take these photos before they closed it up.
