Good Information

“Progress was all right. Only it went on too long.” – James Thurber

Since I am a teacher on summer break, I have a little bit more time on my hands. I have been trying to take advantage of the extra time. I am getting things done around the house. These are tasks that I normally don’t have time to do during the school year. From working out in the yard to home improvement projects. I am taking advantage of the extra time. Typically, when I work in the yard I listen to music. I decided this summer that I wanted to listen to something to help me grow more as a person. I started listening to various podcasts. From ones that talk about house the human mind works to learning more about leadership in education. I want the school year to be shaped by good information. This is just one of the ways I am doing that.

One of my favorite ways to reflect is to ride my bike around town. It’s one of the ways that I take time away from everything and clear my head. When I ride my bike, I bring me camera with me. I bring it with me to remember the moment, and you never know what photo opportunities are out there. I captured these photos at one of my favorite parks in Charlotte, North Carolina, Freedom Park. Freedom Park is almost a 5-mile ride from my house. Getting there is no problem. The way back is mostly uphill. The way back takes more effort; it is still a great ride overall. I usually like to go there, ride around the lake, and take photos. On the last trip I took there, I decided to do some street photography. Here are a few of the photos I took while I was at the park.

Check out this video I captured of Freedom Park.
