“Courage is knowing what not to fear.” – Plato

Sometimes taking a break is a good opportunity. Stepping back from something can be the best way to step ahead. The best life example I have of this is cleaning up my classroom at the end of every school year. Think of packing up a classroom as the same as moving out of a house. Every year, I have to take everything in my classroom, and store it inside the cabinets. This is not an easy task, and it takes a few days to finish. It can get very overwhelming at times. All I see at certain points is what I have left to do. Over the last 13 years, I have learned to just step back. I walk away from it for the day. When I come back the next day, I see the progress I have made. I don’t focus on what I still need to work on. This is just one example of how taking a step back has helped me move ahead.

Sometimes I have to step back when it comes to my photography. I capture photos of different places, and I will have a lot of photos that I need to go through. I don’t have business deadlines for finishing my photo work. So, I took a step back to have the right focus to process them correctly. It’s easy to just rush through and not give each photo the attention that it needs. I captured these photos back in April while I was riding my bike through Southend Neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. One of my favorite places to ride is on the Light Rail Trail that leads to Uptown. Here are some photos of one of my stops there.
