Rock in the Middle

“The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see.” – Gilbert K. Chesterton

I have discovered that typically when I travel, I have a destination in mind. But I don’t have something that I want to see. I want to go somewhere, but I don’t know what I am going to see. I have some activities in mind, but I leave it open for me to try something new. When we plan our trips, we don’t have a full itinerary. We have days open for rest and if something new and exciting comes up.

Last winter, we took a cruise around the Caribbean Sea. We visited several places that we had never been to before. On our first stop, we check out the Dominican Republic. Before I started getting ready to head off the ship, I walked around the deck with my camera. It was close to sunrise, and the sky looked amazing. There was this one large rock sticking up out of the water. I tried to capture photos of it as best as I could.

Check out this video of the sunrise I captured.
