Saturday Traditions

“Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.” – Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel

Life changed in 2020. I’m sure we can list all of the negative things that came out of it. However, some positive things happened to me that year. Too often we think of how disastrous 2020 was, and it was a crazy year. I look back at all of the positive changes I made in that year. I also added some new traditions.

📸 Taking photos around Charlotte. I used to only take pictures when I was traveling, but the pandemic slowed down travel. I started taking my camera out around town and capturing photos of different parts of the city.

🚲 I started to ride my bike around town. The gyms were closed back then, and I needed to do something to get exercise. I tried following along with YouTube videos, but I hated that. At first, I went a mile. Then, I went five miles. Today, on a good day, I will ride more than 10 miles.

🛍 On Saturdays, I like to ride my bike to the Uptown Farmer’sMarket. I love to go, grab a coffee from Enderly Coffee, a sweet treat from Cakable, and check out what all of the different vendors have to offer.

I visited the Farmer’s Market last weekend while riding my bike. The route I take has the market just a little past the halfway point of my ride. This puts me in the perfect spot to take a rest and enjoy being outside. Lately, I have been practicing street photography around Charlotte. I have taken a lot of photos around the area. Most scenes around town don’t change that much, but there are always different people each time I go somewhere. Here are some of the shots I was able to capture during my bike ride last Saturday.

If you are looking for something to do in Charlotte this Saturday, I would highly recommend the Uptown Farmers Market. Here is why:

🧺 They have everything. Plenty of fresh produce and other great items.

🚶 It’s not too crowded. You don’t have to worry about being shoulder to shoulder with other people.

🎹 They have live music!

🅿️ There is plenty of parking, even though it is in Uptown.

Check out a video I made of the Farmer’s Market.
