Views from the Park

“Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world.” – George Bernard ShawI

I love being outside, but I am not a fan of the heat. I try to get out as early as possible to beat the heat. What I mean by early is around 9 am. I am a school teacher on summer break; I don’t like waking up to an alarm unless I have to. I also love a nice slow morning, too. No need to jump out of bed and get going unless I have to. I usually get started on my bike at 9. Even then, it’s already starting to get hot where I am. Even though it is warm outside, I still enjoy it more than being inside.

When I ride my bike somewhere I typically bring my camera with me. Photography is my hobby. I captured these photos at one of my favorite parks to visit in Charlotte, Marshall Park. All of these photos I captured I used a lens from a company called Retropia. I love this lens because it is lightweight. This makes it perfect to bring with me while on a walk. I also love that it is made from recycled disposable camera lenses. When I capture photos with it, it looks like the shot was captured with a film camera. It has various imperfections in the shot that give it a retro look. I also like how the lens doesn’t need to be focused. Just like an old school disposable camera, all you have to do is point and shoot.

Check out this video I captured at Marshall Park.
