“Never find fault with the absent.” – Alexander Pope

With school starting back soon, I know life is getting ready to get busier for us. From my wife and I going back to work to the kids heading back to the classroom. The slow days of summer will be over. I will need to make sure I make rest and my hobbies a priority. Before school starts, I make a schedule. It outlines what I will do each day. Teaching a take home job. I accept that, but I do not allow work to consume me every day. I have two to three days a week to work from home. I prefer to come home and work as opposed to staying at school after hours. On the other days, I make family and my hobbies a priority. I try to get out and practice photography once a week. It might be on a bike ride or riding my bike through town. I have also started to make reading a priority. My goal will be to make sure I read every evening before I go to sleep. I want to make sure I am spending time with family. I want to spend time with them. I aim to ensure that we keep up with each other. My goal this school year is to make the weekend a priority.

One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is ride my bike through Charlotte, North Carolina. The route I take has the market just a little past the halfway point of my ride. This puts me in the perfect spot to take a rest and enjoy being outside. Lately, I have been practicing street photography around Charlotte. I have taken a lot of photos around the area. Most scenes around town don’t change that much, but there are always different people each time I go somewhere. Here are some of the shots I was able to capture during my bike ride last Saturday.

If you are looking for something to do in Charlotte this Saturday, I would highly recommend the Uptown Farmers Market. Here is why:
They have everything. Plenty of fresh produce and other great items.
It’s not too crowded. You don’t have to worry about being shoulder to shoulder with other people.
They have live music!
There is plenty of parking, even though it is in Uptown.
