“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” – Mother Teresa

Today conflict reigns in our society. We avoid looking for things we have in common, and instead focus on the ways we are apart. Instead of looking for where we agree, we look at where we disagree. Most people blame social media for this. Social media will have you only see content that you focus on. If you stare at it, like it or share it, then it will give you more of the same thing. My social media feed is primarily filled with photography, teaching, and sometimes fitness content (I’ve been focusing more on living a healthy lifestyle). That’s because those of the things I primarily look at online. I try to keep my feed as positive as possible. To me that’s one way we can get along better with others.

We can improve our relationships with others in another way. We need to take some time away from our cell phones and electronics. I get it, sometimes you just want to scroll and see what’s going on. Our minds need a break from it. I have things I do during the day that are cell phone free. I take walks in the afternoon with my phone in my pocket. I make reading during the day. I saw the benefits of being phone free when I visited the Masters back in April. The Masters is one of the four major PGA golf tournaments that happens during the year. They do not allow cell phones on the property. The photos I took were with my camera while I visited there. It was nice not having my phone. I was able to enjoy time with my family that was there, and even talk with the other people there. I was a fun experience. Here are some of the photos I captured on that day.
