First Sunset

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” – William James

When I travel, I try to capture at least one sunset and one sunrise whenever possible. The sunrise part is typically easy for me. I usually wake up early in the mornings. When we are on a cruise, I usually head straight up to the deck, and grab a cup of coffee. I’m usually up early enough to see the sunrise. On our last trip I was up early, but not nearly enough to catch the sunrise. Our last cruise was in the Pacific Northwest around Alaska. The sun rises this time of the year at about 4 am. I usually wake up early, but not that early. While I didn’t catch any sunrises on this trip, I was able to see a couple of sunsets.

On the first evening of the cruise, I took a ton of photos. We first got on the boat in Seattle, Washington. My favorite photos from that day were taken right at sunset. I didn’t get a good view of the sun setting from my room’s balcony. However, I did get this amazing view of the sky. This was a great start to one of the best trips I had ever taken.

On of my favorite stops was in Skagway, Alaska. Check out this video I captured while we were there.
