“Nature uses human imagination to lift her work of creation to even higher levels.” – Luigi Pirandello

Juneau, Alaska was good to us when we visited. We spent most of the day walking around the different shops. We also checked out the port. I even stopped by a local coffee shop. We visited Juneau last month while taking a cruise around Alaska. Fun fact, you can only get to Juneau by boat or plane. There are no roads that lead to the city limits. Juneau is the only state capital in the United States that does not connect to other cities by road. After we took a walking tour of the city, we headed back to our ship for some rest. After we rested, we had dinner. Then we hopped off the boat one more time. We wanted to see this beautiful city before we left. Most of the shops were closed at that point. We still enjoyed spending a few more moments in Juneau, Alaska.

Funny thing about sunsets in Alaska, they happen way later than they do in North Carolina. Typically, it gets dark here around 8 pm this time of the year. When I captured these photos, it was almost 10 pm. The timing was perfect. We got back on the boat and settled down in our rooms. By then, the sun had started to set. That evening, I had attached my Retropia lens to my camera before we took our evening walk off the ship. What makes this lens so unique is that it is made from a recycled disposable camera lens. When I use it, it gives the appearance that I took the photo using a film camera. It has various imperfections in the shot that give it a retro look. I also like how the lens doesn’t need to be focused. Just like an old school disposable camera, all you have to do is point and shoot. These are the sunset shots I captured with this lens.
