“Happiness is a direction, not a place.” – Sydney J. Harris

Ten months can be a long time. That is how long a typical school year lasts. During that time I am working with one group of students on a few goals. Evaluating our progress with students takes time. We really won’t know the full extent of progress until the end of the year. Most of the progress they make in a day is small and sometimes hard to see. It’s easy to feel like there is no purpose because it has been a long time. In those moments where we don’t feel purpose, we have to work with. When it seems like there is no purpose, we have to carry ourselves like we have purpose.

I have been sharing many photos from my trip to Alaska. Now, I decided to share some photos I captured in Charlotte, North Carolina back in 2022. I love to ride my bike around Charlotte, and one of my favorite places to ride is Freedom Park. Freedom Park features a lake, several walking paths, playgrounds, and ball fields. It’s a great place to spend time outside or be active. These are some photos I captured around the lake on a clear day. Anytime I ride my bike around town, I bring my camera with me to practice some photography. Practicing in Charlotte allows me to try new things before I go explore a new place.
