“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” – Thomas A. Edison

Whenever you’re taking photos, do you ever look at a subject and think to yourself that you have to capture that photo? So you grab your camera, aim it at the subject, and press the shutter button. The beauty of a digital camera is that you don’t have to wait to know if the shot came out or not. You look at your camera’s screen, and see that you got it. It came out even better than you thought it did. That happened to me a lot while we were traveling in Alaska over the summer. From breathtaking landscapes to whales breaching the surface of the water. I captured so many amazing photos. In fact, I captured so many great photos that it is taking me a while to go through them. I am almost finished with the photos I captured on our first stop of the cruise in Juneau. It’s taking me so long to go through all of these. I will be able to relive our vacation for the next few months. That’s the fun part of photography. You look at the images you captured in the moment, and you can relive them.

When I captured these photos of the seagulls, I couldn’t believe I did it. I was even more surprised when I looked back while processing them that they turned out this good. I captured these photos on embarkation day of our Alaskan cruise. Embarkation day cruise speaks for when you first get on the boat. We flew into our port in Seattle the night before. After our room was open, I was just sitting on our balcony taking photos. A few seagulls are flying around. I was able to capture shots of this one as he was flying around us.
