Road to Juneau
“I’ve never known any trouble than an hour’s reading didn’t assuage.” – Arthur Schopenhauer

The title of the post is a little misleading. There is no road to Juneau. Juneau, Alaska is the only state capital in the United States that doesn’t have any roads leading to it. Once you get to the city limits, the road ends there. When I talk about the road to Juneau, I am metaphorically speaking. The only way to reach Juneau is by boat or plane. We took the boat route. Last July, my family and I took a cruise to Alaska. Juneau was our first stop. When I woke up that morning, I witnessed these incredible views from the balcony in our room. By the time we came back home, I had captured over 2,000 photos with my camera. With views like this, it is easy to see why.

Juneau, Alaska is an amazing place. It is the Largest U.S. city by area. Juneau, Alaska is 3,000 square miles. While it might not have the most people, it has the most land! It rains on average, 230 days a year. When I visited Juneau I was very fortunate to visit on a day filled with sunshine. It does rain a lot in Juneau, but that doesn’t take its beauty away. You have to make plans to visit Juneau. This was the first stop on our 10-day cruise around Alaska, and it didn’t disappoint. We spent the day exploring the city, and seeing what it had to offer. I want to go back because there is so much to see and do here. I captured these photos while our cruise was pulling up to the port in Juneau.
