“Rather fail with honor than succeed by fraud.” – Sophocles

Before July of this year, I had never been to the West Coast. My opportunity came when we flew out to Seattle to take a cruise around Alaska. There were so many firsts that I experienced on this last trip. First time flying in over 13 years. It was my first time seeing the Pacific Ocean. It was the first time I had traveled past multiple time zones at the same time. It was my first time going to Canada. Those are just a few of the firsts I had last summer.

I took a lot of photos on this trip. I am still in the process of editing all of them. Last weekend, I finished reviewing the photos from the first stop of our cruise. These were taken in Juneau, Alaska. Right now, I am working on the photos of the second part of our cruise in Skagway. These photos that I am featuring today I captured on embarkation day of our cruise. For those of you who do not speak cruise, that means the day you get on the boat. Embarkation day is always an exciting day for us. After a long journey to be able to get on the boat, we are looking for some time to relax. Once we get settled on board, I like to get my camera out. Then, I start capturing photos. Here are a few of my favorite photos that I captured once we got on board.
