“Everything that is made beautiful and fair and lovely is made for the eye of one who sees.” – Rumi

Last spring, my wife and I decided to take evening walks together. We decided to do this for our health and time to connect. Sometimes we go together, sometimes we go alone. It depends on what is happening at that time. During the summer, I would indulge myself in a morning walk. It was an effective way to beat the heat in the morning. It also served as an excuse for me to get a cup of iced coffee. During these walks my phone is off limits. I keep it with me to listen to instrumental music if I am alone or if there is an emergency. I started to make sure that I have times during my day set aside for when I unplug. If I am not unplugged with a walk during the day, I am reading my book before I go to bed.

One thing I like to do on my walks is bring my camera with me. While I could take photos with my phone. It would be less to carry, but I try to avoid distractions on my walks. When I use my camera, I only focus on the shot and nothing else. My neighborhood has changed a lot over the last few years. We have so many great spaces that we can walk in now. While the location may always be the same, the people rarely are. Here are some photos from a walk to took during the summer. From someone riding a bike to a pair of sandals with car keys inside. I love posting these photos in black and white for some reason. To me, it just looks better.
