An Evening in Juneau

“You can find peace amidst the storms that threaten you.” – Joseph B. Wirthlin

One of my favorite things to do is take a walk in the evenings with my camera. Not only do I get some exercise and fresh air, but I also capture some photos. My evening walks get even better when I travel. Last summer, the family and I took a cruise around the Inside Passage of Alaska. Our first stop was Juneau. One thing I really loved about this cruise was the late departure time for most of our stops. Whenever we cruise around the Caribbean, the 5 usually departs around 4 or 5 pm. However, most of our stops in Alaska would depart at 7 or 8. This gave us more time to explore our stops. We could even take a rest on the boat. Then we could go see more. During this stop, we ate dinner and realized we still had time to enjoy Juneau a little more. We hopped off the ship and enjoyed a nice evening by the port.

Juneau is a unique city. Juneau is the only U.S. capital that cannot be accessed by road. No roads connect to Juneau from the rest of the state. It is also the largest city in the United States by land mass. The area of Juneau is larger than any other U.S. city. It’s a big place. I used my camera to capture a few more shots of Juneau while we were walking around. I captured these photos of Juneau using my lens from @retropiacam. This lens is made from recycled disposable cameras. It gives a captured-by-film look, and it is easy to use. The lens doesn’t focus, so all you have to do is snap away.
