The More I See, The More I Love

“There is more pleasure in loving than in being beloved.” – Thomas Fuller

When we were planning to take our trip to Alaska earlier this year, I knew I was going to take a lot of pictures. My record for the most photos I have taken on a trip is a little more than a thousand. I love taking photos while I travel. For me, the goal of photography is to capture memories. The trips I have been on were amazing, and I want to be able to look back and remember them forever. I capture as many photos as I possibly can. I made sure before I left for Alaska that I had everything I needed to make it the best experience with my camera. I packed all the lenses I needed, extra batteries with a charger, and my shoulder bag for easy access. Once our trip began, I had a hard time putting down my camera. I captured over 2,000 photos. I am still going through, and maybe I will finish by Christmas. We will see. As I am going through all the photos I captured, I am reminded of the amazing trip we had together this summer.

The photos I am posting today I just finished going this past weekend. I rode the Great White Pass Railway through the Yukon. The more I finish going through the photos, the more I am in awe of the beauty of this land that I saw. The train ride was filled with some of the most spectacular views ever. There is nothing that can compare to it. The railway traveled by the route people would take to mine for gold during the 1896 gold rush in Alaska. The railroad was built there to take miners back and forth to the mines. While I wasn’t riding the train looking for gold, I did find some incredible views along the way.
