“Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.” – Gertrude Stein

A few weeks ago, was my 43rd birthday. Something that is a tradition on Facebook is posting one someone birthday. Every year on my birthday, family and friends from all over the place post tell me Happy Birthday on Facebook. I appreciate it a lot, but one thing I am bad about is thanking them when they do. I appreciate it, but how do they know I appreciate it without me saying that I do. So, this year, I took a couple of minutes and replied to each person telling them thank you. Some, I even took the time and reconnected with some people I haven’t spoken to in a while. People don’t know you appreciate them unless you tell them that you do.

I snapped these pics last winter when my family and I went on a cruise to the Dominican Republic. We spent the day touring the port and the countryside. We stopped and spent some time at a Butterfly Sanctuary, and then ate a traditional lunch at a plantation. I captured these photos in the morning before the ship docked at the port. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed our time there.
