Be Flexible

“Sometimes flexibilty helps us acheive the most difficult of goals.” – Jo Boaler

There are several phrases most teachers hate hearing from their leaders. From pivot to lean in, we dread hearing those things because it means we are getting ready to be dumped with information. The worst phrase I hear from leadership is “be flexible.” Typically when I hear that phrase it tells me that whatever is getting ready to happen has been so poorly planned that we have no idea how it is going to work. Too often being flexible means that someone isn’t prepared. While someone saying to be flexible is annoying, it can be a useful skill in a difficult situation. Most goals worth achieving take time. Some take months, and others take years. We might start our goal one way, but finish it completely different. Our goal is to always achieve, but the journey there is where we experience the growth.

I practice flexibilty when I capture photos. Typically while I am out with my camera I have three lens with me. I change my lens out based on the situatio, and what I want to capture in the moment. I captured there photos last weekend, when the wife and I visited the @uptownfarmersmarket. This is one of my favorite farmers markets in Charlotte because there is plenty of parking and some awesome vendors there. I used a couple of different lens while capturing these photos. I used my nikon 18-150mm and my @retropiacam lens.
