Almost the End

“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent.” – John Donne

It might not feel like it, but the year is almost over. Christmas is about a month away, and New Year’s is right around the corner. Some of us felt like they have met their goals for the year. Some have not. Just because the year is almost over, it doesn’t mean you should lose focus of your goals. So many of you are so close, and some feel like they won’t get there. You have to ask yourself one question, are you closer to your goal than you were a year ago? More than likely the answer is yes. If you are closer to your goal, then that means you have grown as a person. Too often, we think the goal is the way we grow. Your goal is actually a benchmark showing how much you have grown. The journey is where improvement comes from. As the year comes to an end, look back at how much progress you have made. Don’t stop because 2025 is coming to an end.

I would have said you were crazy if you had told me when I captured these photos that I would lose 40 pounds. Being in the best shape in years seemed impossible then. I wished I had lost more weight by now. However, I feel better and stronger than I did this time last year. I keep going, and I hope to make even more improvements as the year comes to an end. I captured these photos on New Year’s Day last year. I stayed up late the night before, and then for some reason woke up early. I took advantage and enjoyed the sunrise with my camera.
