“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” – Robert Frost

Whenever I look at a photo I capture, sometimes I just stare at it in awe. I look at every pixel, every corner, and every section while thinking to myself, I captured that photo. I look back, and I remind myself that I stood in that spot to capture that photo. There was a point in my life where I stood and captured that. It reminds me of how lucky I am to see so many amazing places around the world. From the Caribbean to Alaska, I have been blessed to see these places in person. From the ocean to the frontier, I have witnessed these wonders firsthand. That’s why I take so long to process photos from my travels. I have seen so many amazing things that I want the moment to be captured perfectly forever. From the moment I place my camera in my hands to when I share that photo with everyone. I try to make it look as good as possible. This way, I can remember the feeling I had when seeing the scene for the first time. I spend time getting the settings on my camera right. Then, I sit with my laptop to make the final adjustments. There is more to posting photos than just me snapping and posting. The full process of photography allows me to appreciate the beauty of the photo that I captured.

These photos are an example of me taking my time to post. I captured these photos at the end of July. My family and I were on a cruise around the Inside Passage of Alaska. The Hubbard Glacier was nothing short of amazing. It took us a few hours to get there from when we woke up that morning. The views on the way there were amazing. I remember opening up these photos for the first time on my computer. I was just in awe of how amazing this place is. Looking at these photos reminded me of the moment I captured them. I remember standing out on our balcony with my camera using an over 300 mm lens. The lens was so heavy that my arm got tired at certain points. The air was chilly, but I had a great cup of coffee out there with me. My wife and I purchased the plan where we could get unlimited premium coffee while on the ship. Not only was my obsession with photography satisfied on this trip, but also my coffee addiction. These photos were the first few I captured that day. It was that morning on our way to the Hubbard Glacier.
