2025 Year in Review

Looking back at 2025, I was a good year for me overall. I visited so many amazing places, and had so many great experiences it is hard to keep track. This morning, I went back and looked at some of the photos I captured this last year. Here are 12 of my favorites. I added links to previous post so you can see more of that moment.

1) New Year’s Day Sunrise – Typically, when I stay up late, I don’t get up early. For some reason, on New Year’s Day, I woke up before sunrise. I took advantage of the morning. We were towards the end of our Christmas cruise around the Caribbean. I went up to the main deck and captured some great shots of the sunrise.

2) “Snow” in Charlotte – It doesn’t take but a few flakes to get people in the southern United States panicked about snow. We had some light snow in February. I walked out with my camera and captured these shots of this spider web with some light snow on it.

3) People On the Street – This year, I decided to start taking photos of people I see around the streets of Charlotte. Capturing photos of strangers in Charlotte is a fun activity. It allows me to see my city in a different light.

4) Spring in Charlotte – I love seeing the trees bloom. It is one of my favorite things to take photos of in the spring. The city is covered in pink and white blooms in the first warm months of the year.

5) Train Ride in Alaska – Alaska is the most amazing place I have ever visited. The views there are indescribable. The train ride along the gold rush route had some of the most amazing views I had ever seen.

6) Hubbard Glacier – My first time seeing a glacier in person was nothing short of amazing. Seeing it felt so unreal.

7) Visiting a Rainforest – Alaska is home to one of the largest temperate rainforests in the world.

8) Above the Clouds – At Icy Strait Point, we took a gondola ride up to the top and had a view above the clouds.

9) On the Way to Glacier – The views on the way to see the Hubbard Glacier were nothing short of amazing. I spent most of the day just on our balcony taking photos and staring about the beauty in front of me.

10) Seeing A Bald Eagle in the Wild – I had only seen a bald eagle in zoos before. Seeing them out in the wild was a surreal experience.

11) Flamingos – Our last trip of 2025 was to Orlando, Florida. My mom has always loved flamingos. We took her to see them up close and personal.

12) Me at the Gym – I made some big changes in 2025. I changed my diet, and started prioritizing my health. So far, I have lost 35 pounds. My goal is to keep up this momentum up through 2026.
