We all have a gift. A gift is something special to you that you are good at. The meaning of our lives is to find our gifts. Finding our gifts is not easy to do. To me, a gift is something that someone has natural talent in and is something they like doing. I didn’t start embracing my gifts as an educator until 2020. For years, I tried mimicking the gifts of others and struggled. I started using my gifts in the classroom, and I was able to thrive. I don’t just keep my gifts to myself and my classroom. Now I share with gifts with other teachers and the district in order to benefit other students. I am a instructional coach to two other teachers helping them be better in their classrooms. I do various things for my district from creating professional development videos to analyzing new things coming from our state. I do my best not to keep my gifts to myself, and share them with the world.
Another gift I believe that I have is photography. I love to take photos, and I like to share my love of taking photos with others. I like to show off the amazing places I have been. Our world is a huge and amazing place. Hopefully my photos inspire you to see more of it. I hope they at least give you a glimpse of our world. I hope also inspire other photographers to get out there and take more photos. Maybe even to change it up a bit, and capture something different. These photos I am showcasing today are a little different. I captured these photos when the family and I visited Juneau, Alaska last summer. We didn’t have anything special planned when we visited, but we took the day to just walk around town. These are a few of the photos I captured that evening using a lens I got from Retropia. This is cool lens made from a recycled disposable camera. It gives off a vintage feel to my photos, and it is super easy to use. No need to focus, just point and click.
