Views on the Way

“If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded.” – Maya Angelou

I have an obsession with good views. I have traveled thousands of miles just to see a good view. Nothing is more relaxing to me than seeing wide open fields and water. Add some mountains to it, then it gets even better. Either my camera is in my face while looking at a great landscape or I have a cup of coffee in one hand. When admiring a great landscape, either my camera is in front of me or I am sipping coffee. With my coffee in hand, I just sit back and take it all in. There is something peaceful about just looking out and seeing nothing but water, land, and trees for miles. It’s hard to explain. This feeling of nothing is what add calm to a noisy world.

I experienced many great landscapes. The family and I took a cruise to Alaska last summer. We were treated to some of the most amazing views ever. Our first stop was the state capitol of Alaska, Juneau. There are only two ways to Juneau, by ship or plane. We went by water of course. Juneau was an awesome place to visit, but the way there was filled with amazing views. I spent most of my morning out on our balcony with my camera and a cup of coffee.
