“The happiest people seem to be those who have no particular cause for being happy except that they are so.” – William Inge

It has been cold in Charlotte, North Carolina these last few weeks. From ice storms to below freezing temperatures, this winter blast doesn’t seem to want to end. This cold weather has me thinking about our trip to Florida last winter. When we traveled to Florida, the weather was a lovely 80 degrees. It felt like spring. It was great! I spent the whole week wearing shorts, sitting outside, and enjoying the warmer weather. Today in Charlotte, you have to put 50 layers before you go out. I know what some of you are saying, it’s colder in Chicago. I’m sure it is, but I live in Chicago. Growing up I thought I would like the snow, but living through in Kentucky, I can’t stand it. It’s messy, it gets every where, and I can do without it. Right now, it’s cold. Remembering the great weather I experienced over winter break comforts me. I know warmer days are coming.

These are just a sampling of the photos I captured while in Orlando, Florida over winter break. The weather was so good. We walked with flamingos. We swam in a lazy river. We snorkeled with sting rays. We watched the orcas put on a show. It was great. We spent our first day hanging out at Discovery Cove. Discovery Cove is a day resort where you spent the day with various wildlife. The next day we adventured to SeaWorld. It was a great experience, but it was packed that day. The photos of the birds I captured at Discovery Cove. The aquarium shots, the penguins, and the orca in the air, I captured while at SeaWorld.
