“Wisdom is oftentimes nearer when we stoop than when we soar.” – William Wordsworth

Do your kids say crazy that make no sense? Well my two defiantly have a knack for saying the wackiest things. Like their father, they like to try and get a reaction out of everyone. From trying to get a laugh to just seeing how you feel about a topic. Last winter break, we took a trip to Florida. One of our stops was Sea World. The first exhibit we stopped was the dolphin exhibit. We got their at just the right tie because they were starting the have the dolphin preform. As the dolphins were doing their tricks, my two teenagers kept saying the weirdest things. They also shouted comments as the dolphins leaped out of the water. They said that the dolphins are secretly trying to earn our trust in order to take over the world. I asked them what in the world are they talking about. They told me that they act friendly, but secretly they are devious. I told them it sounded a lot like the theory that all birds are robots (yes, that is a thing). Then I was reminded not to be fooled by the evil dolphins.

Saying crazy things are just part of being in the Griffin family. Travel is another part as well. We try to go somewhere fun on every major holiday. From Alaska to the Caribbean, we love to see the world. Last winter, we went somewhere a little closer to home. We took a drive down to Florida. Our first stop was Discovery Cove. We spent the day walking with the flamingos, swimming in the lazy river, and snorkeling with sting rays. Our next stop was SeaWorld. SeaWorld was fun, but it was packed. It was wall to wall people every place we went to. We were able to see a lot of the animals that lived there. I was able to get some great shots with the dolphins. I have been working on getting my camera settings right for fast moving subjects. This helped me later when we went to the Orca show. Here are a few of the shots I captured of these dolphins trying to take over the world.
